As of 1913, there were approximately 250 members. An annual masquerade social was held in Newton on February 22, 1913. Originally, KCAD had decided to cancel the 1913 yearly picnic to allow KAD to draw a big crowd to its biennial convention. However, when KAD postponed their convention to 1914, it was decided to hold the KCAD picnic on July 3-5.

Southern Kansas and Oklahoma Association of Deaf Mutes

In July 1908, after unanimously deciding to make Wichita the permanent headquarters of the association, the Southern Kansas and Oklahoma Association of Deaf Mutes concluded the business of its eighth annual convention and adjourned. Besides deciding to meet in Wichita again the following July, the Saturday meetings were held in Riverside Park.
